HMCS Venture 1954

                  Mike passed away peacefully in his sleep on 10th October 2006 while on vacation in Ottawa, Ontario.
                  Born in Swift Current, SK, Mike spent five years in the Royal Canadian Navy before meeting his wife Barbara and settling in Calgary in 1959. During his short time in the Navy, Mike made a great many friends who, unfortunately, only ever got to see him at the Reunions which are held every 5 years.
                  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, scuba diving, sailing and camping. Mike was a family man whose integrity, character and wisdom will be held closely in the hearts of those who loved him dearly.
                   Mike will be greatly missed by his wife of 47 years, Barbara; their children Michael, MaryBeth, and David; their spouses Beatrice, Andrew and Annette; anf five grandsons, Nathan, Matthew, Cameron, Steven and Daniel.
                    He was predeceased by his parents Bessie and Albert; and his beloved younger brothers, David and Donald.
                    Funeral services will be held at McInnes & Holloways Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday 18 October 2006 at 2:30pm. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
