Ed passed away peacefully after a long period of declining health. Ed had moved from Bancroft some time ago to an extended care facility in Peterborough, ON.
Beginning his Naval career as a MARS officer, he then transferred to Logistics. At some point during the transition from Surface to Logistics, Ed attended university. After leaving the Navy in the mid 80's, Ed was employed by Digital Equipment Corp in Texas for 7 years. Ed retired to Black Creek on Vancouver Island in the late 90's and moved to Ontario in 2007.
He is survived by a son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren in Peterborough, two daughters, plus numerous family members located from Orillia to the prairies and Abbottsford BC.
His ashes will be taken to the West coast sometime this summer (2013) for a private family service.
